A very Happy New Year to everyone. I hope 2014 treats you and your loved ones well, and (of course) I hope the new year brings with it a procession of winning tickets.
The beginning of the new year brings with it reflections on the past year, as well as a hearty "Thank You" to all of the people that participate on this site. Whether you read, write or comment, I sincerely appreciate anyone and everyone that takes the time to visit our site. Thank you.
Since 2014 is the Year of the Horse, well, at least when the Chinese new year begins on January 31st, we've got to be in for something good this year, right?
Speaking of something good - can I just write that I'm really glad the holidays are finally in the rear-view mirror? Goodness. It's been a month and a half of non-stop running around in my household while the days and weeks simply fly by a Mach 10. I don't know if it was the late Thanksgiving or what, but I'm kind of ready for some regularly scheduled normalcy for a few months.
I've picked up a form multiple times the last three weeks, each time handicapping a slew of races at the Fair Grounds or Gulfstream with the intention of spit shining the skills during the slow times, and in each instance I never got around to making a single bet.
Seriously, holidays, go away. I've got handicapping and wagering I need to attend to in a timely manner.
I hope you all enjoyed your holiday season. Now let's get back to some handicapping in the days, weeks and months ahead of us in 2014.
