In June, Churchill Downs Inc. announced the successful completion and launch of Derby City Gaming on Poplar Level Road, a comprehensive entertainment destination offering a unique blend of hospitality, culinary delights, and sports betting.

Now, the excitement is growing as Churchill Downs gears up for the opening of its second Derby City Gaming location at 140 S. 4th St. in downtown Louisville. This new venue is conveniently located just a 12-minute drive from the iconic twin spires track, making it an ideal destination for both locals and tourists.

The upcoming 43,000-square-foot entertainment venue, initially announced in 2021, is scheduled to open its doors on December 6, 2023. This date marks exactly 150 days before the 150th Run for the Roses, an iconic event held on May 4, 2024.
