While the dreams of a Triple Crown will once again fade into another year, a victory by Orb or Oxbow in Saturday's Belmont Stakes will put either of those horses in the driver's seat to be named Champion Three-Year-Old Colt at the end of the season. A victory by one of the other horses in the field likely leaves Orb at the top of the divisional honors. with plenty of racing this summer to help sort out the contenders from the pretenders.
Unlimited Budget is attempting to become the second filly to win the race in the last ten years, joining 2007 winner Rags to Riches. Prior to 2007, you had to go all the way back to Tanya in 1905 to find a filly winner of the Belmont.
