Groupie Doll, racing three wide on the far turn, went to the lead and held off a late charge from Judy the Beauty and Dance Card to win the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint for the second consecutive year. Unlike 2012 when she went to the gate at odds of 3/5, Groupie Doll as a tepid 3/1 favorite against a very deep and talented field of fillies and mares. Groupie Doll is a five-year-old mare by Bowman's Band out of a Silver Deputy mare (Deputy Doll), trained by William Bradley and ridden by Rajiv Maragh. With her victory in the Filly & Mare Sprint, Groupie Doll has now won over $2 million in her career. She is expected to retire after the Breeders' Cup.
