Kelso 2013 Results: Gradar rolls gate to wire

Graydar broke alertly from the gate and went straight to the lead tracked by Souper Speedy through good fractions, repelled a bid from Brujo de Olleros (BRZ) in deep stretch en route to winning the Grade 2 Kelso Handicap at Belmont Park. Brujo de Olleros finished second while Hymn Book rounded out the trifecta.

Graydar is a four-year-old colt by Unbridled's Song out of a Dehere mare (Sweetest Smile), trained by Todd Pletcher and ridden by Edgar Prado. Graydar has never had an issue winning races - he's now five for six in his career - but he's struggled to stay fit and healthy. He probably wasn't at his best in the Kelso but even a less than 100% Graydar was too much for his rivals to handle.

The Kelso is a "Win and You're In" race for the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile.
