That's some serious bankroll for a Pick 5.
--------------
It was a day of big prices at Keeneland on Thursday afternoon, the biggest coming from 36/1 long shot Moonwalk in the Grade 3 Jessamine in the feature race. The $74.00 winner keyed a $0.50 Pick 5 sequence that paid a Island Paradise vacation inducing $266,430.20 to a single winning ticket. The consolation paid a very healthy $562.25.
The big Pick 5 sequence began with 4-Positive Side (10/1) getting up late at the wire to beat Tetradrachm in the fifth race, an N1X event on the grass. The second leg saw another $20+ winner, with first time starter 6-Cor Cor (9/1) taking a field of juvenile fillies gate-to-wire at six furlongs on the main track. Another gate-to-wire winner in the third leg from 12-Scatman (3/1) keyed a $1,209.80 $2 Pick 3 and set things up for a big finish to the day.
4-Moonwalk (36/1), a third place finisher at Kentucky Down in her last start, stalked the early pace of 3-Sunset Time and then was part of a six filly mad dash to the finish that saw her edge 50Kitten's Point by a nose at the wire.
The sequence came to a close in the ninth race with 7-Cataract Canyon (7/1) nipping first time started 5-Glamour Puss by a nose at the wire.
