Alysheba Results: Take Charge Indy Much The Best

Take Charge Indy wins the Alysheba but an inquiry and a disqualification changed the order of the horses behind him.

Rob Carr

Take Charge Indy stalked the early of long shot Right to Vote, moved on the leader on the far turn, and pulled away to win the Grade 2 Alysheba in a cake walk on the Kentucky Oaks day under card. Cyber Secret got the trip he was looking for but could only come up with a non-threatening second to the runaway winner. Hymn Book finished third.

Bourbon Courage finished fourth prior to a jockey's claim of foul and a steward's inquiry on Bourbon Courage for causing traffic issues heading into the first turn. The inquiry was expanded to include runner-up Cyber Secret who appeared to come over into Bourbon Courage going into the first turn, causing the trouble. Cyber Secret was DQ's and placed eighth. Hymn Book moved up to second, Bourbon Courage moved to third, with Laugh Tack placed fourth.

Take Charge Indy is a four-year-old son of A.P. Indy out of a Dehere mare (Take Charge Lady), trained by Patrick Byrne and ridden by Rosie Napravnik.
